FAQS

Is it painful?

Diode laser incorporates a new cooling system in its head that lowers temperature at a constant -10ºC during the whole session. The cold sensation makes the treatment gentler and painless if you compare it to other laser hair removal treatments in the market.

Do I need to be + 18 to undergo a laser treatment?

No, as long as your parents or tutors authorise the centre to carry out the convenient sessions.

There is no minimum age for a laser treatment, it is just important to bear in mind that hormone levels are high during adolescence and they tend to create and grow new hair follicles. Yet, based on our experience, we can also affirm that some treatments applied to teenagers have had the same effectiveness and in the same number of sessions as in adults.

Is laser hair removal permanent?

There is currently no procedure to remove hair permanently. Laser hair removal works by damaging hair follicles and stopping new hairs from growing. Nevertheless, along our life, new hair follicles which were not active during the treatment, may produce new hair growth. For this reason, we recommend a maintenance session after finishing the treatment.

What kind of skin problems can Diode laser solve?

It can improve skin quality and solve the problems of unwanted hair. It also helps eliminate ingrown hair (hair cysts), it reduces problems such as folliculitis and it can help healing abscesses in case there are any.

Can I have laser hair removal with a sun tan?

Tan skin is not a problem, we just have to adjust the laser settings to treat tanned skins in order to guarantee an effective treatment for this skin type.

It is not recommended to use self-tanners or solarium sessions during the laser treatment since it could cause skin dark spots or stains.

Can I have laser hair removal if I have a lot of freckles?

The melanin content in freckles make them look darker than the rest of the skin and laser could negatively affect the skin in that area. That is why we will proceed to cover the freckles during the treatment and in case there are a lot, the expert will have to assess the situation.

Can I get laser hair removal if I have tattoos?

If you have a tattoo, the professional carrying out the session will cover the tattoo or set up a security perimeter around it. Laser targets darker areas or areas with higher melanin, and this could deform the tattoo.

If you don’t have any tattoos and you may get one done, consider the possibility of undergoing the laser hair removal treatment before getting the tattoo.

How often is the treatment done?

Sessions will be done more or less often depending on your hair growth cycle. First sessions are generally done every month in body treatments and every 2 weeks in face treatments. Our experts will determine whether further sessions are likely to be more frequent or more spaced in time as the treatment progresses.

How soon can results be seen?

Laser hair removal is a process that depends on every person and everyone can react to it in different ways. Hair may take shorter time to disappear permanently in people with darker, thicker hair and lighter skin. On the contrary, patients with lighter, thinner hair and darker skin may need some more sessions.

It is also important to bear in mind that hair undergoes three different growth stages and for this reason multiple sessions are required. In each of the sessions we remove only the hair that is in the anagen phase (the growing phase), which means that the hair is completely attached to the root.

We cannot determine the exact number of sessions, but the average number of sessions is 8-10 for women and 10-12 for men. We guarantee changes being noticeable from the very first session. After this first session you will see hair growing back again, and after 5-15 days, the hair that has been eliminated will start to fall off. The rest will be debilitated and permanently removed in the following sessions. We recommend you to respect the time interval between sessions to ensure the highest efficiency.

What parts of the body respond best to the treatment?

Laser hair removal can safely treat most areas of your body. There are some areas more popular than others, but there is no specific area where laser is not advisable. It can actually be applied to all body parts with hair and all skin prototypes.

Who carries out the treatment?

We are experts in laser hair removal and both the consulting and the treatment is carried out by trained professionals who guarantee your security as well as the effectiveness of the treatment.

How long do I have to wait until I can shave again after the session? What method should I use?

After the session, we recommend waiting until the hair grows and falls off by itself. Even so, you can use a razor or a depilatory cream, but under no circumstances should you use methods that pluck the hair root. It is important to moisturize and exfoliate the area to avoid further problems such as ingrown hair.
